No weekend without festival

Today"s art festival, The Hague.... music, arts, performances

Nouvelle Vague

My friend Michael wrote about them www.thehagueonline.com/:
Last Saturday the French band "Nouvelle Vague" (meaning New Wave) played in the Anton Philipszaal as part of the TodaysArt festival. They feature two young ladies performing seductive lounge versions of punk and new wave classics from the late 70’s and early 80’s. From the Sex Pistols ‘God save the Queen’ to ‘Bela Lugosi’s Dead’ originally by Bauhaus and my personal favourite, the Dead Kennedys ‘Too Drunk to f***’ -these songs are performed so nicely that you could play them as background music when your Granny comes to visit without offending her sensibilities. TodaysArt also featured "!!!" pronounced ‘chk chk chk’ who reminded me of Primal Scream and also the very accomplished grunge instrumental threesome "God is an Astronaut" who so impressed me that I had to buy one of their CDs (The end of the beginning)!

Poni Hoax
quote from the festival booklet: their sound could best be described as Rock"n Roll music with a wild hybridisation of Italo disco, noisy garage and murder ballads!!!!!

If you have heard it, you know what that means....

Visitors to the centre were greeted by the sound of synthisizers and the sound of the electric discharges they created

And lots of mad music and people in the bars around....

look at the picture and you can guess this places name....

The living legend

John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers once featured people like Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood and Walter Trout
Today John Mayall is almost 75... and still playing guitar, Keyboards and blues harp

Homeless man sleeping next to one of Amsterdam's public urinoirs... and still while sleeping grasping the typical shopping bag with his sparse belongings....

And since it is difficult to express smells, here a picture of the inside of another urinoir to imagine it
