Medieval Games

On the 25th and 26th of August the old town of Fuessen became the stage of Medieval Games
The "Hohes Schloss" in Fuessen was the former summer residence of the prince bishop of Augsburg and one of Bavaria's largest and best preserved late Gothic castle complexes
The famous castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau are located near the town
The medieval festival reminds of the times when the Bishops ruled the town
People dressed in medieval clothes come from far away to exhibit at the medieval market ....
... and live in a medieval camp
Most of the tourists, however, come for the follies of the mad Bavarian king Ludwig II from places as far away as China and Japan
